I mean, what’s not to like?
An added benefit of making hummus is that you can keep the aquafaba (the chickpea water), and make delicious recipes such as vegan brownies or vegan crepes.
The main ingredient in hummus is chickpeas (or garbanzo beans as they are also known), which are not only rich in fibre but also packs a whopping 19 grams of protein per 100 grams.
There are probably as many different recipes out there for hummus as there are people who make hummus. In this recipe, I will keep it simple and basic, just as I like it. Don’t be afraid to experiment though!
How to make quick easy and delicious hummus
It’s really not rocket science at all, just take all the ingredients and put them in a food processor with the S-blade attached and mix them until you have reached your desired consistency. I like my hummus a little coarse and not too runny, but if you feel that it is too thick just add a bit more water and/or olive oil.
What do you like to have your hummus to? Let me know in the comments.
